House Rules and Information
Parking: Parking is limited at the Newman Lakehouse. Only 1 vehicle is allowed to park on the concrete pad next to home. 2 cars can park on pad if they don’t block grass driveway leading to neighbors home. All other vehicles must park on the side of Park Beach Road. From the home, travel up the gravel driveway and turn left when you reach the paved road. Parking will be on the left had side off the road. Please see image below for parking at the home.
Hot Tub Operation: Please click link to find more information on the hot operation. Please not, the most important thing to understand with the hot tub is the “mode” settings. The mode is changed by pressing the “Temp” button, then pressing the “Light” button. The mode should always be set to St (Standard) if it displays Ec or Sl, please press the “Temp” then “Light” buttons until it displays St. The temperature should be set to 104.
Heating: The main living area is heated with a “Pellet Stove.” To operate the stove, first turn the thermostat to “heat,” the fan to “auto” and set your desired temperature. At this point you will hear the stove turn on and start the process of dropping pellets into the burner. Once the stove is ready, a flame will start heating up the pellets and once it comes to the correct internal temperature, the stove fan will turn on. The stove will already have pellets loaded but depending on your stay and inside/ outside temperatures, you might need to load more pellets. This process is easy, first lift the top of the stove up and the top will hinge towards you. Load it up with more pellets and you’re good to go!
All bedrooms have portable heaters. Simply turn the unit on and set the desired temperature and other settings.
The downstairs bathroom has a wall heater. To operate the heater, first set the timer dial on the left and next the heat dial on the right.
Outdoor Furniture: During the summer months the outdoor cushions are left on the couches but in the Fall, Spring and Summer they are removed and placed in the storage shed. If you use the outdoor seating, please don’t leave out in the rain and snow.
Outdoor Firepit: Ensure propane tank is turned on by twisting top of tank to “on” position. Light the flame with a stick lighter. A stick lighter is located in kitchen drawer.
Blackstone Grill:
Air Conditioner (summer only): The main living area is cooled with a portable AC unit located in the living room.
Quiet Time: The home is locate in a quaint neighborhood and sound does travel. Please reduce outdoor noise to a respectable level at 9:00pm.
Trash: Please pickup all trash on premises and refrain from littering on our beautiful beach. Garbage pickup services aren’t available at the home so please place all FULL trash bags in storage room located off deck. Make sure to close the door so we don’t get any visits from the local critters.

AT DEPARTURE
- Wash all dirty dishes and place in dryer rack or or in cabinets/drawers. Please do not leave dirty dishes in the sink .
- Place all dirty towels in the washing machine and start the load. Don’t forget the detergent:)
- Sign out of all your TV apps.
- Take the kitchen trash bag to the storage shed and please close the storage shed door.
- Turn off the Blackstone Grill and Firepit propane tank if used.
- Turn off all lights, pellet stove thermostat, heaters/portable AC
- Lock all the doors and windows.
- Send a message to (208) 818-8448 informing us that you have departed.
